The HERE4LIFE concert is a community-based prevention initiative that has developed in response to the dramatic increase in the rate of youth suicide that was observed in North Queensland from 2014 – currently. Addressing suicide in Townsville is a challenging task. The scale and breadth of factors that are associated with suicide and attempted suicide - and the complex interplay of these factors- underscores the magnitude of the challenge associated with suicide prevention.

Here4Life will bring together existing community networks from all sector of the community through highlight the issues of suicide and promote the importance of the awareness, information and skills to be able to address this issues. This event will be the platform to build resilience through the provision of education and, build the capacity of community to recognise and respond appropriately to people at risk of suicide; connecting to community, identifying and promoting strategies that facilitate opportunities
